There's a New World's Oldest Woman by Macey Kanaman 8th Period

Summary: The world's oldest person has some advice for living a long life, "Don't drink rum". Violet-Moss Brown, also known as Aunt V, is the world's oldest human, being born in 1900. This title comes with the death of Emma Morano who died this past Saturday. Morano was the last living person who was born in the 1800s. Brown is a healthy hardworking woman. She continued her late husband's duties of record-keeper at their local cemetery. Brown's granddaughter and great granddaughter have even founded an organization, the Violet Moss Foundation which helps take care of the elderly.

Analysis: This article was very interesting to me. I knew people lived for a very long time, but I didn't know they lived this long. It's crazy to think about how long people lived hundreds of years ago. Most of them only lived up until their 30s, which is extremely young to die in 2017. There are a lot of things we have now that help us live long lives, which include medicine, mass production of food and a lot of technology that makes our life easier. I wonder how long people will be living 300 years from now.
