Hayley Cagle, Family of Facebook homicide victim: We forgive accused shooter

Summary: Steve Stephens livestreamed the murder of elder Robert Goodwin on Facebook. Goodwin was walking home from an Easter lunch with his family when Stephens approached him and shot him. Stephens then fled the scene and continued to livestream, claiming to have killed others, until police found him in Pennsylvania later after committing suicide.

Analysis: This event has hyperbolized the severity of the access social media gives us. When you can see someone being killed right before your eyes, in the killer's point of view, it desensitizes it. Similar to the violent war related video games played today, murder has become less severe.
