Judge Killed Outside Chicago Home: Ava Noble

Summer: On Monday morning, a judge was shot outside of his home. His name was Raymond Myles, and he was 66 years old. He is the Cook County Judge. Myles is involved in Chicago's high-profile cases. The woman that was shot with him is described as "a close associate of the judge". This woman did not die, and they think she will be okay. They are not sure yet if the reason he was killed was because of his work as a judge. They are currently investigating the cause of the killing. A $25,000 reward is being given to people who have information about the killer, which will ultimately lead to the arrest of the killer.

Analysis: This article was posted on CNN on Monday morning, and CNN is known to be a trustworthy news website. I can trust that the facts provided in the article are all true. To synthesise,  I can compare this to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. This happened in Downtown Dallas when he was riding a motorcycle through Dealey Plaza. I think this article was written for mainly an older audience so that students do not get scared about their safety. However, this could teach many people to be very aware of their surroundings at all times. I am hoping this Judge's family is healing, and I hope they figure out the cause and punish the killer severely.

  1. i suspect that the person who shot the judge is perhaps someone who was going on trial in front of him or an associate of a person being judged by him. i hope the murderer is found soon and that he/she be faced with proper charges. -tessa ward
