During an event, featuring cartoon drawings of the prophet Mohammed, in Garland, Texas, two phoenix room mates opened fire and shot a Garland Independent School District security guard in the leg, but before being able to harm anyone else they were shot by a traffic cop, killing them both and probably saving a lot of people's lives. One of the attackers had been convicted of terrorism-related charges in 2011 after he told an FBI informant that he wanted to kill non-Muslims.
In the Islam religion you are not allowed to depict the prophet Mohammed, which is probably what these men were being driven by. This is similar to the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris, except that ended much worse. This is driven back to the first amendment in many ways: freedom of speech. Should people stop depicting Mohammed because it is offensive to the Islam religion or should people continue to exercise their freedom of speech in this way?
