Nebraska Abolishes Death Penalty- Amanda Cervantes p.4

Many of Nebraskas state senators agreed on abolishing the death penalty, they voted to override the governors veto, who is for the death penalty and were able to override his veto. This will be one of 18 states across the country who oppose the death penalty. The senators had different economic, political and ethical reasons for their decisions.
This is an interesting example of how the legislative process works and an instance where the legislature can override the executive branch, in this case the governor
