After being raped by her father a 10 year old girl is being denied an abortion because of Paraguay's strict abortion laws. Health officials have said that there is not a big enough threat on her life to justify an abortion. However she is now 22 weeks, 2 weeks past the cutoff for an abortion even if it was life threatening. this is not the first time something like this has happened, over 70,000 girls have died during pregnancy or childbirth in developing countries every year.
I am a firm believer in pro-choice no matter what and things like this are what make my argument for it even stronger. I think its horrible what her father did to her and the government is making it worse by forcing a 10 year old to go though this very painful experience, not only is her body not physically capable to safely give birth but emotionally she would not be ready to raise a child. This is happening all over the US when white old men who think they know whats right for my body decide to shut down any possible way for women to safely have an abortion. If its not your body get out of their business.

10 YEARS OLD?!?!?!?! She could die, she could go through so many physical and emotional problems. Not only does she have an extremely high risk of dying, but that means that the child could die, or not have a mother. And to know her dad is her grandpa? First of all, the rape culture around the world is absolutely terrible. On top of that, I am also pro-choice, but only if someone is at risk or extremely unstable in certain ways. I believe that she deserved more help than she's given.
