Bill Levin, founder of the First Church of Cannabis, plans on
testing Indiana’s new religious freedom law with a service full of weed. The
idea came from a radio show that announced the idea that the religious freedom
law could even protect a church of pot smokers and the idea arose. The governor’s
office hasn’t commented on the actions of Levin but the preacher was quoted
saying “come hell or high water the service will commence”.
This relates to U.S History because cannabis has been subject
of major debate in our society because of the negative connotations surrounding
it. As someone growing in a generation of pot smokers, I think it wise for the
government to invest more understanding to those who do choose to take part in
smoking.
