Police say Curfew in riot-hit Baltimore working (Juliana Cortez Pd.3)

A curfew was set on the city of Baltimore in hopes that the city would become a safer place. However, it failed when several hundred protesters initially refused to clear the streets on that Tuesday and a fired started near the local library. This resulted in the suspension of six officers and the arrest of ten men, seven of which were out after curfew (10:00 pm). There are different point of views regarding the curfew, some believe that the police officers are just abusing their power and others feel that it is effective. A 68 year old man, that goes by the name of Clarence, said that he hadn't seen Baltimore so tense since the riots that took place in 68. This is where six people were killed, seven hundred were injured and much of the downtown area was razed. Last year's shooting of the unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown, by a white officer in Ferguson, Mississippi, has definitely triggered coast-to-coast protest.
