Muslim Chaplain claims discrimination on United flight

Ahmad, who is a chaplain and director of the interfaith and engagement at Northwestern university, was denied the right to an unopened soda can due to hygienic reasons.  The flight attended stated that she was unable to give her an unopened soda can because it could be used as a weapon, but gave an unopened beer can to a man near her. Ahmad told the flight attendant that she was being discriminated against but the flight attended did not respond in any way.  When Ahmad asked the other people around her on the flight if they had just witnessed the event, they told her to shut up instead of standing up for her.
Ever since 9/11, airports have increased their security to protect Americans from terrorists.  Because of this, many people have been discriminating any person of the Muslim faith, even if they are from the United states. Just like the African Americans, women, Japenese americans, Muslims are being discriminated just like these other groups of people.
