Wiseman explains that the failure to educate has been affecting the Mississippi public school student’s knowledge of their surroundings. They have been deprived of knowing what brought Mississippi to this point racially. Currently the racial gap has been increasing and Wiseman believes it is important to inform the youth to encourage a change.

Wiseman needs to acknowledge that it will be difficult to bring up this topic to entire range of public school students. The children come from different backgrounds and have been taught from what is happening in the world from different point of views (their parents). Teachers would have to teach current events from a general non-opinionated view, so no one will be offended.
