A mother in Rockford, Illinois discovered her child's tumor based off of a photo she took of her son's face. In an interview she said that she had always noticed something in the back of his eye, but didn't think too much of it. Then, a few weeks ago, she decided to look up her son's symptoms and learned of a person who had the same symptoms, who in pictures, had one red eye and one white that ended up having cancer. She decided to try taking a picture of each of her children. Sure enough, her son's eyes came out the same way. She took him to the doctor and they confirmed that he had been blind in this eye for his entire life becasue there was a growing tumor. Luckily, they removed his eye before it spread to the rest of his body, and he is now in good health.
This story is a reminder of how unexpectedly tragedy can happen, but it is also a reminder of how unexpectedly tragedy can be averted. It's so good that they caught their son's tumor before it spread anywhere else. I hope this story will inspire people to trust their gut more, and to ask questions before making assumptions.
