Mr. Park shifts uncomfortably in his seat. One of the most senior North Korean officials to ever defect, he was preparing to tell the awful truth about the regime he served faithfully for decades.
"On May 5th or 6th of last year," says Park. "Kim Jong Un ordered his aunt, Kim Kyong Hui to be killed. Only his bodyguard unit, Unit 974, knew this -- now senior officials also know she was poisoned."
According to Park, Kim Jong Un wanted to silence her after she complained angrily for months after her husband and presumed number two in the country, Jang Song Thaek was killed in December of 2013.
This article really saddens me. I think it shows that dictators can be so greedy and drunk with power and control that they'll turn against even their loved ones and the ones closest to them. This article reminds me of Hitler's way of "silencing" people he did not accept into his vision.

This is a clear example of how dictatorships operate and how cruel they are. I think we are very blessed to be a part of a nation that allows democracy to take place, where people have a say.
