Spring Break Gang Rape (Daniel Alcorta 4th)

During Spring Break, two college students from Alabama gang raped a girl in Panama City Beach in Florida. The victim said that she was watching the news one day and say a video about a gang rape. As she was watching it, she recognized the tattoos and a horrible realization came upon her. She was possible drugged and gang raped in front of the entire beach. The video was found and was turned into the Sheriff of Panama Beach. What was shocking to the police was that people stood around and watched the entire thing unfold. No one tried to stop it, no one tried to report it. The woman didn't even know she was gang raped until seeing the news. The students are now put under suspension from their college and one of them has been kicked off the track team.

This is just horrible. How can one think that they can have the right to take someone like this? And for others to think that it was okay? Not only did they think it was okay, they thought it as a form of entertainment and didn't even try to stop it. I am glad that they found these students and that the woman identified herself to the police. It is never acceptable that someone could be sexually abused like this. But she was not only abused by these two students, she was also abused by the crowd, who did nothing to stop this horrible act from happening.

  1. Wow, she must've been really embarrassed after seeing the video, but I'm glad she spoke up because if she hadn't, these guys would've gotten away with it. No matter how embarrassing it may be, these stories need to be told because it's not okay.
