A gunman walked into a building on the campus of Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, North Carolina, today and shot the school's print shop operator, killing him, authorities said.
The school was placed on a lockdown, and the gunman remains at large. All buildings have been cleared, Major Tom Effler of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
"This is not a random situation. It is an isolated situation," he said.
Ron Lane, the victim, was a longtime employee. The gunman who is the suspect, identified by the law enforcement as 20-year-old Kenneth Morgan Stancil III, worked at one time for the victim and is a former student at the school.
The Goldsboro Police Department described Stancil as "armed and dangerous."
This article really saddens me. The killer may have had some grudge against Ron Lane, but was violence really the answer? Especially killing? It really makes me upset. I hope he is caught. This reminds me of the Sandyhook shootings, although the shooting was random in that case and not carefully planned like this one.

This kind of also reminds me of the assassination of JFK and the killer would be like Lee Harvey Oswald. Maybe he just had a grudge against him? I don't know why they chose to deal the situation with guns but there are just a lot of questions that will never be answered.
ReplyDeleteThere is a deeper story to this, and I want to find out what it is. Someone can't just walk into somewhere and out of the blue shoot someone. It just doesn't happen like that. I hope that they find the murderer. -Destiny Ramirez
