Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed a law banning a second-term abortion procedure. Supporters of the measure described it as a groundbreaking step, while opponents warned it was dangerous and among the most restrictive abortion laws in the country. The law does not spell out a specific time frame that limits when an abortion can occur, but it bans the dilation and evacuation. This new law sparks controversy throughout women nation-wide.
This relates to US history because abortion rights have been an issue amongst women since the 70's. The US has come a long way from what it used to be in terms of abortion laws. All 50 states allow abortion. Not allowing abortion in the second trimester is understandable but in the end, a woman should have the right to make that decision for herself.

It makes me worried that these women are going to try to unsafely have an abortion now because there are these new restrictions.
ReplyDeleteThe women are going about this the wrong way and the new restrictions placed regarding abortion enables them to do so.
