Hillary Clinton Is Running For President- Lauren Kuehmeier, period 2

Hillary Clinton announces that she will be running for president in the coming election! This election is also predicted to be one of the least contested elections in recent history. Which makes for an exciting chance that Clinton could win. Whatever the outcome, this is a gigantic and inspiring step for women in government. Clinton plans to tour for campaign to gain momentum and to show voters what she stands for: improving the economic fortunes of the middle class, with an emphasis on increasing wages and reducing income inequality. She is also taking advantage of the internet with her video release promoting her ideas and change she wants to bring. The video prominently features a black couple expecting a child, a young Asian-American woman, and two men who say they are getting married. It also shows plenty of the white, working-class people who were crucial to her previous White House bid and signals that she intends to make helping the middle class and reducing income inequality major themes of her campaign.Pay equity is an issue that Clinton’s candidacy will pay special attention to, along with others important to many women, like paid family and medical leave, a higher minimum wage and affordable access to child care.

  1. Absolutely! This election (at least the primary), will probably be like the election of LBJ, with overwhelming support for Clinton.
