Week 3 still no solution - Jasmine Easter

If you are one of the people who thought that the government shut down would be over by now, you were obviously wrong. As the shutdown enters week 3 there is no end in site. States have had to take some matters into there own hands since the shut down such as New York paying $61,600 a day to keep the Statue of Liberty open and Free lunches in our own city. This shutdown is affecting everyone from Congress to kindergarteners. I think I speak for everyone when I say it's time this came to an end. President Obama is attempting to work with congress to devise a plan of action and suction without extending the federal debt ceiling as proposed today. But with only 3 days until the deadline and no solution in sight, that isn't seeming like a bad idea.

  3. I think its not only insane that this shutdown has lasted so long, but also extremely inconsiderate on the part of the government officials responsible. As you said, this situation affects many aspects of our government and has a domino effect on the people. One part that bothers me in particular is that veterans are being denied many of their benefits promised to them for their time serving our country.

  4. Honestly, I haven't read too much about the government shut down evaluate it heavily confuses me. However I agree that our country needs to come together. We need to find a way to support our leaders in order for our country to succeed. Rather than trying to cause our opponents to fail in order for succes

  5. Do we even remember why it shut down anymore? I don't know a whole lot about it, but it kinda feels like everybody just quit. What are all of the states supposed to do? Everything depends so much on the federal government that it'd mind-boggling that they haven't offered a solution.

  7. I can't believe that the government is still shut down! I know that it is not a very publicized event; my own parents thought it was over weeks ago. Hopefully progress will be made very soon. Ashley Barnes 2nd
