A meaningful message By Madi Frampton
Brittanie Penrose wrote a message off of a California Pier in 2010 when recovering from brain
cancer. Last Thursday the long lost long message washed up on Guam 6,190 miles away where 14
year old high school student Javier Sanchez found it. Even though Brittanie had forgotten about the letter it still went on with her life story including her dog, she was a phlebotomist, and her battle through chemo.
Javier would have never found the letter if it was not for his science teacher. While on a clean up learning about tides and marine life he found and smashed the bottle and gave it to his teacher to read. Once it was read aloud (what was comprehensible from sun damage etc.) Javier contacted Brittanie and Brittanie asked him to join her on Facebook!
It's so funny how things end up in life and how things come to be!

these guys need to write a book about this together or something, that's so neat!
ReplyDeleteYou would always hear about messages in bottles when you were little and for it to actually come up in real life is so cool. That must've been such a cool experience for both of them. I bet she never expected for it to actually be found Wow!
