Dallas Nurse Infected With Ebola - Veronica Carleton 5th Period

http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/13/health/ebola-nurse-how-could-this-happen/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

This story by Ashley Fantz and Holly Yan summarize what is known about Ebola and ask how this nurse, who seems to have followed protocol, got infected. This is obliviously relevant to us as we live in the Dallas area but given that national are fears rising in regards to this disease it making it headline news everywhere.
While it is unlikely any of us will get infected it is important to keep up with this case as it is the first transfer of the disease on US soil. (Somewhat similar to the transfer of smallpox to the natives except I seriously doubt we will start dying in droves).

  1. Hahaha Veronica I can definitely tell you wrote this. but even though there are some similarities to smallpox its scary how in todays technical age Ebola is still being spread so easliy.

  2. Lucky it hasn't gotten to be like smallpox and other diseases as those in the foreign exchange. Although transferred similarly, it is unlikely to be affected and hopefully it will stay that way

  3. Exactly ^ It is so scary that it is spreading so easily when it isn't even airborne. but that doesn't mean we will get it.
