The article I chose is about Donald Trump's government that issued a rule that allows employers to opt out of providing free birth control to millions of Americans. The rule lets employers decline to give birth control if it violates their 'religious beliefs' or 'moral convictions'. 55 million omen benefited from the Obama-era rule that gives companions free birth control. Mr. Trump pledged to eliminate that requirement. The decision was made when HHS official cited a stidy that claiming acces to "contraception" encourages "risky sexual behavior". They say as well that women may lose the coverage if they are unable to pay for it themselves.
People are reacting by saying that this is an attack on women. Birth control is used for many reasons, apart from preventing pregnancy. It can treat many conditions and syndromes. Obstericians and Gynecologists said the decision undetermined the best interets of their patients and turned back the clock on women's health. The administration also says that only a small number of women are going to be affected.
This is similar to The Comstock Act that as passed in the United States prohibiting advertisements, information, and distribution of birth control and allowing the postal service to take birth control sold through mail.

Emma Burkey: Of course we're back to taking away something from women. As you said in the article, the use of birth control is not solely it's namesake, it help's cycles and other issues women face. Issues that Trump himself doesn't seem to deem as valid.
