While nearly 30,000 teachers, nurses, counselors and librarians protest for justice in Los Angeles, LAUSD says they can not improve what they are asking. Now the nation's second-biggest school system is using substitutes and staff to keep the school doors open. Los Angeles teachers and staff have been working a year now without any given contract. Not only do these teachers need higher pay, but they deserve a better staff as well as a healthier teaching environment. It has now been believed by all the teachers that striking is the only way to help convince the raise of public school funding.
With the increase in population of the west these past years, you would think that the school distract could’ve easily negotiated with the board to control such critical issues. The students attending these public schools are also unable to get nurse or staff care when needed. Personally I believe this is very important for a school that does exceed size public and funding. Because the staff is unable to teach, thousands of students throughout Los Angeles are struggling for a healthy education. LAUSD seems to be totally held responsible for this issue that has surpassed the limit. In other words, they waited so long to be involved in the district; even so they unable to become close to being financially stable.
