Serena Williams returns to Australian Open with emphatic win
By: John Pye
Serena Williams, in Melbourne Australia, jumped right back in where she left off at the Australia Open and returning for the first time since winning the title while pregnant with her first child in 2017. She considered the victory one of the best of her 23 Grand slam titles. Williams commented "Yeah, I think the last time I was here, I was pregnant and playing at the same time-which is insane."
Analysis: This is a beautiful example of a strong woman. In history, when the Women's Right Movement was moving along they fought saying "we are more than just bearing a child and taking care of them". This shows even while pregnant you can be active and achieve other goals. This article was written to show Serena Williams growth and she is back better than ever having her first child. This article was written on January 14,2018.
I think you made a great connection with the women now vs. the women from years ago. I like how you compared the two and it shows growth in the women in society.
