Jayme Closs, the Wisconsin girl who went missing for nearly three months after her parents were killed, was found alive Thursday after emerging from the woods in a rural community about 70 miles from her home. Wisconsin officials have confirmed that suspect Jake Patterson abducted Closs and killed the teen's parents. Patterson is being charged with kidnapping and murder. Jayme was found by Jeanne Nutter, who happened to be a former social worker. Nutter took Jayme and used her child protection skills to get her to safety.
This article was updated on January 14, 2019. It was written to inform people about the details of this kidnapping and show the story from Nutter’s point of view. It’s pretty significant that the person to find Jayme had experience with child protection. Nutter explains the thoughts that were going through her head and what she did to get her to safety. If it was anybody else, they might not have known what to do.
