President Trump on Monday while getting ready for an event in New Orleans stated, that he not only wasn't involved in any way with Russia, but called FBI directors "known scoundrels" and "dirty cops" for opening a counterintelligence investigation on his work with Russia, or Russian officials. Trump clearly stated the words "I never worked with Russia" and "not only did in never work for Russia, I think it's a disgrace that you even asked the question..." in front of dozens of reporters. Trump even goes on to talk make accusations about the FBI being the ones who were involved with Russia during the 2016 presidential election. The Presidents actions have shown to be similar to the actions of political figures and big bosses of the Gilded age. Monopolies and big companies would sway government decisions by the amount of power that the company possessed. The involvement of lobbyists from big businesses and the political figures of the time is incredibly similar to the relationship with Russia and Trump.
