Pence Visits DMZ as Tensions Rise Between U.S. and N. Korea
Summary: Vice President Mike Pence recently made an unannounced visit to the Demilitarized Zone which is located between North and South Korea. Tensions between the United States and North Korea are at an all time high to the recent U.S. strikes in Syria and Afghanistan. Both the U.S. and North Korea have threatened nuclear warfare. North Korea tested a ballistic missile this past week but it blew up at launch. It is believed the United States currently has a covert operation underway meant to sabotage the North Korean bomb program.
Analysis: I think the aggressive moves the United States government has been making towards North Korea under the Trump administration are a step in the wrong direction. North Korea has proved itself to be a nation who does not mess around when faced with threats and who is not afraid to take military action if provoked. Under the Obama administration it seemed like we were turning away from foreign military involvement but this makes it seem like the Trump administration will not being following in Obama's footsteps in that regard.
