Ohio prison inmates 'built computers and hid them in ceiling': By Regan Saldana

Summary:

Recently, a court case about a Ohio state prison from 2015 was released to the public. On July 3, 2015, it was reported that two PCs were found in the ceiling of a training room of the prison after the network in the prison had been reported to have unusual amounts of activity used on a certain account. The computers were said to have been built by three inmates after receiving old PCs in a inmate activity program to take them apart and recycle them. The computers were found with files on drug making, bomb and weapon making, and credit card scamming files. The inmates described to security about how they were able to successfully keep those computers in the ceiling but authorities don't know how long the computers were in the ceiling.

Analysis:

This article was written on April 12th of 2017. My main question is why this case is just being released after almost two years. The case itself to me does not have a particular negative affect on the general public. Also at the time of this incident in 2015, there was never public information on this a case at all either. Also, have the programs and activities that inmates are able to do in prisons across the country been changed since this incident? And how does the length of time it has taken to release this case effected this issue?

  1. Very Strange that the security weren't the least bit suspicious. And how did they figure that out?
