Rough waters on Florida beaches over Memorial Day weekend have caused four people to go missing in the radical surf. People have died and gone missing all over the state from Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Little Talbot Island, Biscayne Bay, and Jacksonville. Nine swimmers and boaters have been effected by this wave of danger either having gone missing or gotten stranded because of the force of the water.
The search parties and public concern for this issue show the involvement of both the government and the people, making this issue both political and social. The Coast Guard has been diligently searching for these individuals as their duty to protect the American people.
