Annegret Raunigk, a 65 year old German grandmother, gave birth to quadruplets, making her the oldest woman ever to give birth. She has a total of 17 children plus 7 grandchildren. She's a single mother and gave birth to 3 boys and 1 girl. She was pregnant for 26 weeks and the babies were delivered by C-section and are being kept in incubators for premature babies.
This relates to APUSH because childbirth has been around for a long time. It was at its peak during the baby boom, which was big in the late 40s to early 60s. It went down when people started to practice safe sex and women began taking birth control pills. Many people began to realize how their bodies functioned and learned about the age in which they can't have anymore children. In this case, this woman was able to have 4 more babies at her age. Hopefully they come out healthy!
Wow, that's really amazing.
