Today, there was a shooting in the West Wing of the Capitol of the US. Since it happened today, investigations are still going on, and there is little information. The only person who was killed was a man who's name has not been mentioned. However, this shooting was made for any government officials, the president, etc. the man who was shot, shot himself. It is unclear what he did while working at the White House, but either way, this poor man has committed suicide at the US Capitol, and unfortunately it is unsure as to why he did kill himself.
At first, I assumed this was an attempt to some type of terrorism. The White House did go into lock down, because terrorism can happen left or right at this time (ISIS, continued groups of Al Qaeda, terrorism caused by US citizens, etc.). I do hope that more information is found, because there are many questions raised. Why would he kill himself at work, in the White House? Did he have any intention of killing himself? How was he able to bring a gun in so easily? What does that mean for White House security? If they had better security, would he have died today? I honestly do find it heart breaking that this man killed himself, and I hope that suicide in general can decrease, and that security can be more persistent, or at least have some way of creating stronger protection.
Wow. Another shooting? This makes me wonder if anyone regrets the second amendment. This country is going on a downward spiral in cases like this, and I can only hope that it will rise back up again. -Destiny Ramirez
