Shooting at Wayne Community College- Myles Bennett

This Monday, one person was shot and killed at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Students were told that "this is not a drill, students must go into lockdown". Thankfully, because everyone took the warning seriously, only one person was killed. The suspect is still at large; they are looking for a white male with a tattoo over his left eye.

Analysis: This could by compared to the shooting at Kent State University during the time of the Vietnam War. Although police have not released any potential motives for this shooting at Wayne Community College, there is a possibility that the motive had something to do with the politics of the school or state. The shooter may not have believed in what the school taught or may have not been satisfied with his time there (he is believed to have been a student at the school at one point). Although this is not the National Guard killing students for protesting, there is still someone coming in and threatening a public institution and possibly what it or the the people there believe in.
