The CDC has been investigating the cause of a gastrointestinal illness affecting passengers aboard cruise ships since the start of 2015. Two cruise ships, the Celebrity Infinity and the Legend of the Seas both carry a total of 228 sick passengers. However these two are not the only ones to have harbored such an ailment. The Celebrity Infinity was actually the fifth outbreak of gastrointestinal disease on a cruise ship this year, and the CDC determined Monday that it was cause by the norovirus; however the cause of the outbreak on the Legend of the Seas remains unknown.

Would increasing sterility on cruise ships better or worsen the situation?
