Austin Sigg, a Colorado teen pled guilty to the murder of 10 year old Jessica Ridgeway. Austin was 17 when he committed the murder but was charged as an adult and pled guilty to all counts. Sigg lived only a mile away from Ridgeway's home. He was charged with strangling the girl and then dismembering her body. After that he proceeded to put the body parts in bags and hide some under his home, and then disposed of the rest at a park near his home. The police received his confession when Sigg's mother called them and handed him the phone.

I am horrified by this crime. It is so hard to imagine that someone so close to our own age could commit such a heinous crime. I am really at a loss for words that something so brutal could be done to such an innocent child. I totally agree with the judged decision to try Austin Sigg as an adult, because I think he deserves to serve as much time as possible for this crime. My heart is with Jessica Ridgeway's family as they endure this horrible loss.
That really is such a sad situation. I wonder what had drove him to do such a thing???
ReplyDeleteIts so grotesque the way he handled this situation. It just goes to show how society has such an evil unsafe setting nowadays. I remember times my mother would tell me she didnt even have to lock her car when she went places because everyone respected each other.
ReplyDeleteThis is truely ridiculous to me.. It is some much going on in the world nowadays &' you would think that with all that our country has been through that we would come together instead of going against each other..

Felicia Padilla 5th period: Wow! this is crazy! The part that actually frightens me the most is that he wasn't even going to confess on his own, his mom made him confess.
ReplyDeleteIt's terrible to think that, had his mom been out of the picture, he would've gotten away with it and possibly killing more people. Just awful.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible. It serves as yet another example of how morally corrupted our society has become. We hear about murders and killings every day, many of them being committed by younger and younger people, and it has gotten to the point where we've gotten used to it, which to me is the saddest part.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! This is such a sad situation. Stories like these just make me wonder what could be the motivation to do such a thing. There is nothing that could be done to ever repay the little girl's family except bringing her back which won't happen, so hopefully his sentence in prison with help him learn the extent of his crime and give the family peace of mind as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm not understanding his motivation for this or his purpose. Killing an innocent girl, for what having the satisfaction of saying you killed a little girl? Our society is crazy now-a-days.
