Leslie Kelly: Air Canada loses woman's dog, sends email suggesting it's no big deal

A few days ago, a woman lost her dog at an airport in San Francisco when an employee released him from his cage. The dog, a greyhound named Larry, whose owner was trying to honor the wishes of a dead friend, was intended to go to British Columbia but is now wandering aimlessly in San Francisco. What's worse is that his owner, Jutta Kulic, was sent a rather insensitive email by the manager of corporate communications. The email was also accidentally sent to a reporter. Sheesh, not very careful maneuvers from this manager guy. Larry, unfortunately, is still lost, and the manager, Peter Fitzpatrick, sent another email to Kulic apologizing for any unintended insensitivity and the promise that they are still looking for Larry. Honestly, I don't think Fitzpatrick meant to seem like he didn't care, but I really have no idea how he managed to accidentally send this to some reporter...that's pretty weird. What also confuses me is why no one is fixating on the person who actually let Larry out. What's that all about? Did they even try to catch him or--well, I know greyhounds are pretty fast, but come on, how does no one end up finding him in the airport? Bleh. Well, I certainly hope he's found soon, safe and sound, and sent to his owner and original destination. Read the article here.

  1. What an odd thing. I do not understand why someone would let loose a greyhound in a n airport.

  2. Of all dog breeds to release into a crowded environment, had to be a greyhound. Not some big Old English Sheepdog or something good grief
