Flesh-Eating Drug

http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/4073417
As of late as last week, the first cases – a few people in Utah and Arizona – were reported to have been using the heroin-like drug, which rots the skin from the inside out,” Singala said in a Tuesday press release. "It is a horrific way to get sick. The smell of rotten flesh permeates the room. Intensive treatment and skin grafts are required, but they often are not enough to save limbs or lives.”
While the drug has been in Russia for at least a decade, krokodil is only now making its way to the states roughly two weeks ago.
Krokodil, named for the scaly green appearance of skin once gangrene sets in, Also known as desomorphine, the budget drug (roughly one-tenth the cost of heroin) is made from codeine tablets combined with substances like gasoline, paint thinner or lighter fluid.
Personal Response:
Don't Google this it's really gross. Ew so these people that are taking this poison, otherwise known as the "Worst Drug Ever" are seriously witnessing their skin fall off. First it starts to flake and then it just starts to disappear and rot. And their first reaction of course it to take more. When I first read this I was grossed out, but as I researched it I became more frightened than anything. Some weird person decided to create a device of torture and sell it on the streets for money. It's scary to think about what/who's out there. Not to mention the fact that these people thought they were buying heroin (this doesn't make it any better) but what if that happened to me? Like I'm on my way to pick up my prescription and when I take my pills all of my limbs fall off. Gross.

  1. This creeps me out. And it's kind of a good example of the fact that you never know what's in the stuff you're taking... You've gotta be careful, or your skin will fall off.

  2. This is incredibly disturbing. Also, I don't quite understand it. I'm not sure why drug dealers would ever sell something that kills their customers. So sad, it would be a terrible way to lose your limb, and know that it's your fault

  3. Why would anyone want to take a drug that makes their skin rot away? This makes no sense to me whatsoever. Especially since the customers do it anyway.

  4. Comment by Rhyann lee This was so interesting to me! People just get hooked on drugs no matter how dangerous ! things scare me away from any drugs but I guess it doesn't scare these addicted people
