Strong winds and freezing temperatures encased an upstate New York home in ice. The house is along the Lake Ontario waterfront. Heavy winds during a storm caused ice to blow up against the house. Also the ice surrounding the home is for feet deep , but luckily she was able to escape through the back door. Owner of the property Maureen Whelan says it’s been in her family for over 85 years and she’s never seen anything like it.
When I saw this I just thought this is something out of a movie. I never knew that the weather could have this big affect on people’s everyday lives. Based on the video I watched I’m very intrigued on how she got out. The house was literally engulfed in ice corner to corner.
The weather plays such a big role on people’s day to day life. Like the tornadoes that just hit in Alabama a few days ago. Weather is very unpredictable but I think throughout the years we’ve learned to try to be prepared for anything. You never know what could happen.
