Alabama Girl found dead-- By Diya Ghayal

Summary: Amberly Barnett was an eleven year old girl, who was last seen at 6 p.m, in Northeast Alabama (Mt.Vernon area).  However, searchers found her body at 6:30 a.m, the next morning. The search had begun immediately after they reported the missing person, around 7 p.m, and over the night they grew in manpower. They covered the areas of a nearby Cherokee county and close parts of Georgia. The sheriff has not yet released the information regarding the why and how of her death.

Analysis: This article was written earlier today, in the afternoon, which means that the information is mainly up to date and current. This was written and expressed towards to people in Alabama and the USA, to keep us aware about recent kidnappings, deaths, amber alerts, etc. The purpose of this article was to inform us about these horrid events that are happening to young children, and to allow us to be alert about our surroundings/environment. This event can be related to previous amber alerts we have all received, to recent kidnappings and murders that have occurred. It is truly sad, that there are bad people out in the real world, that wish to harm young children...

  1. Emma Burkey: This story is so tragic, especially as it is about a young girl who had her life ahead of her. I hope that in the future more can be done to prevent kidnappings.

  2. Paige McManaman- Reading this article made me think what i would do if something like this happened to one of my siblings. This is very tragic and it should never happen to someone who should of had many many many years to come in her life. More things to prevent these kinds of incidents need to happen asap.
