Bird Box challenge - Maria Golici

If you haven't watched Bird Box than go watch it on Netflix because it is amazing! What's not so amazing is the challenge that has been inspired by the movie and spread like wildfire on social media. In the movie the characters are required to stay blindfolded because if they saw the sinister force they instantly become suicidal. Many people have taken a parody twist on this movie and have posted many fail videos of them with blindfolds on. It has gotten to a point where a toddler has been accidentally dragged into a wall. Netflix released a tweet to please stop this challenge and to not end up in the hospital as a start for the New Year!

This article was written on January 3, 2019 at 7:42 AM. When hearing and reading about the Bird Box challenge it really reminded me of the same dangers built up with the game Pokemon Go. It's almost they were blindfolded with their phones. Just hoping that everyone who participated in the challenge isn't hurt and that no one gets hurt in the near future! Let's have a safe and fun year, lets go 2019!

  1. This is insane to me. At first the Bird Box challenge was all fun and game but people continue to get hurt. Hopefully soon, people will stop the Bird Box challenge!! And I agree the movie was amazing, hard to watch at times, but still amazing.

  2. In the beginning it was all in good fun and the movie was amazing but the challenge is dangerous and stupid. It's gotten so crazy people have attempted to drive blindfolded.

  4. I am pretty sure i saw this video online, and the sad thing is that i might have laughed. Anyways this fun challenged turned sideways as soon as people began to put their lives at stake participating in it. Someone even actually crashed their car on a tollway because of this stupid movie. Don't get my wrong it was a great movie, but had terrible ideas to influence the kids and teens of today. - Joziah German

  5. I couldn't believe people actually made a challenge out of this. Now I did cover my eyes in my house and walk around for like 2 seconds but I know my house and have people around to assist; however, I have heard stories about people driving blindfolded and I couldn't believe it! Some people feel like they could do what the actors in the movie did, but they forgot that it was a movie. All of the actors had people around them to make sure things wouldn't go wrong. I can't wait til this challenge goes out of style.

  6. Yet another instance of the internet taking something too far. Like you said with pokemon go, but also with the tide pod challenge, and a major throwback to the cinnamon challenge. Just because something's popular doesn't mean you need to do it.
