Over the past few years, the Great Barrier Reef has been facing a severe wave of coral bleaching that is growing and now affect 900 miles of the reef. This has a great effect on marine life and the underwater ecosystems living in the reefs. This wave is a result of extremely high temperatures caused by global warming, along with other weather complications, such as El Nino. The full recovery of the reefs will take at least a decade, though some of the regions may be too far damaged already.
This raises concerns for the wildlife living off of those reefs for their sources of food and habitation. If this continues and worsens, some species who are custom to the reefs may come to the brink of extinction.

It is very saddening to see the most beautiful parts of the world dying. With all the new advances in technology and medicine I hope that we can find a way to preserve wildlife.
