A school shooting in California today has left three dead and many in pieces. Not long before 10:30 this morning, Cedric Anderson of Riverside, California, checked in with the front desk of North Park Elementary School before going to visit his wife, Karen Smith. Karen was teaching a class of 15 special needs children, grades one through four, with the help of two adult aids, when Anderson broke in and shot her. He promptly shot himself. Sadly, two students were injured during the incident. One is in stable condition, but the other has passed on. No one on the school's staff could tell that Anderson had been carrying a gun.
This article was written today, April 10th, and updated at 7:52 PM ET. It was written by CNN reporters Sonya Hamasaki and Darran Simon. It talks about a tragic incident that took place this morning at an elementary school in San Bernardino, CA. If this school would've had proper metal detectors and sufficient security, maybe this tragedy wouldn't have happened. It also relates to the issue of gun control and even mental health care. If California (and the rest of the United States) had sensible gun laws, heart breaking events such as this just might be a little less common. And if Anderson had gotten the proper gun training, or even the mental support and treatment he needed, maybe he wouldn't have gone to his Wife's school to shoot her in front of her class and co-workers, leaving many traumatized and some dead.

I think the school should improve their security, so an incident like this won't happen again for everyone's safety.
