Summary- At the Equinox Fitness Club in the upscale Shops at Merrick Park mall in Coral Gables, Florida a former employee opened fire on two of the gym's employees during a dispute Saturday. One person is dead and two others were wounded and airlifted to the hospital. A police officer was at the mall at the time and was able to quickly determine that the shooting was targeted at specific individuals and not a terrorist shooting. The mall went on lockdown and shoppers were taking cover until everything was secured about 40 minutes later. It is believed that the shooter is the person that was killed.
Analysis- This article was written by Tony Marco and Ray Sanchez with CNN to inform the public of the tragic events that took place and that everything has been secured. Events like this remind me of several tragic shootings throughout the country and the world were people resort to gun violence for there disagreements. Hopefully the two that were injured will be okay.
I hope that everyone involved in the shooting are safe and ok. I'm glad that an officer was available at the time.
