Mackenzie Bessner- Hate against pit bulls

Lately, there has been a lot of commotion over the fact that pit bulls are dangerous and people should not have that dog breed in their home. These dogs seem to be known for fighting, killing, and hurting other dogs/humans, but all the dogs in the breed are not like that, they are just like any other breed, some may just be tougher because they were bred as working dogs. Most of the time it is the problem with the people, not the dog. Getting a new dog is not like getting a new piece of furniture, it is not something to show off, but to love and take care of. They cannot teach themselves and must be helped by a trainer or an owner in order to learn the right behavior. If the owner realizes the dog has an aggressive behavior, then they should train them to do what's right and not bring them around other dogs or people.

This was posted in June of 2016, not too long ago. Prior to reading this article, I had seen posts on Twitter about people not liking pit bulls for being too aggressive and that they are banned in certain states and countries. This really makes me upset because these dogs do not deserve this hate and especially not to be banned. All dogs are individuals and have their own unique personality and traits. I hope people can fix this problem of hating these poor dogs because it has been a problem for too many years.

  1. I agree that pit bulls should not be treated this way since they are just like any dog breed, and if they're violent it might be the owner's fault for not training it properly.
