Gracie Darlington: 2 teens arrested in Chicago sex assault streamed online

Chicago police arrested two teenage boys for being apart of a group sexual assault on a girl that was live-streamed on Facebook live. Police are searching for as many as six total juvenile offenders who were in the video. The girl victim, who was reported missing after the assault, has received much online harassment throughout the course of the investigation, and police are making sure to protect her to the best of their ability. At least 40 people saw the live-stream, and zero reported anything.

This article was published to describe some of the terrible event and inform the readers of the current updates on this story. The author is factual and to the point. With the advancements of technology and the increased presence of young people on social platforms such as Instagram or Facebook or Snapchat, more horrific, awful stories like this are able to spread and gain attention rapidly. This can relate to last year, when Philando Castile's wrongful death was able to gain national attention after his girlfriend live-streamed the moments just after he was shot by a police officer.
