Summary- In 1967 20 year old Kathrine Swizer was the first woman to run the famous Boston Marathon, and on Monday 50 years later she ran it again. She was wearing the same number that an official tried to rip off her in 1967. This was her 40th marathon and 9th time running in Boston. At 70 years old she finished with a time of 4:44:31 while also stopping for a few interviews and pictures, her average time per mile was still 10:51. She grew a lot of popularity from the media and many people admire her and she has become an icon.

Analysis- This article was written by Emanuella Grinberg and published by CNN. I had seen articles and pictures of Kathrine floating around on twitter and other social medias and I think she is so amazing. She still has the same go getting attitude that she had in 1967 when she broke down walls for women. After she ran that first time it inspired many other woman to run and or follow their passion. Now that she is still running 50 years later is also a great reminder that you can still do what you love no matter what age.
