Rick Santorum who was a previous Pennsylvania Senator stated this past weekend that he supports LGBT rights and respects the community. He said that "if he's a woman, then he's a woman." He makes it very upfront and certain that anybody can be who they want to be and its our job as human beings to accept that. He also says that it is okay to criticize people for their actions but we have to realize that what they do is their responsibility. Santorum used to be opposed to LGBT rights so for him to step out and say he respects the community has been breaking news.
I think this is a mature move for Santorum because it's not easy talking about this topic since there has been so much controversy lately. Bruce Jenner is just being himself and has finally found out who he is and for someone to publicly praise him for that is incredible. The LGBT community is having high hopes of sometime having an equality law just like the women in the 1920s that were hoping for equality.
