An African American family living in Lindenhurst has recently received a racist letter than claimed that the family did not belong there. The letter stated that it was from the "community" and would be better for everyone in the city if they left. The people living in Lindenhurst refused to tolerate the hate crime and are working with the Suffolk County Police to find the culprit. It is horrid to see that racism at this level is quite prominent, but it is reassuring that now people are more accepting and supportive of other races and cultures.
