Recent evidence suggests the phone of the co-pilot of flight 370 was on and made contact with a phone tower in Malaysia about the same time the plane disappeared from the radar. However, there was no evidence that the co-pilot tried to make a call from the phone. 250 miles from the place where the plane lost contact is where the phone was trying to pick up a signal. All of this happened approximately 30 minutes after the plane took a sharp westward turn. This is all very confusing because pilots are supposed to turn cell-phones off before pushing back from the gate.
The search is now focused on looking underwater, so hopefully some more evidence will turn up.
It would be really sad if the cell phone incident caused the plane accident.
ReplyDeleteI love how they said they found the plane, but they're still looking.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine such a tragedy being caused by a cell phone, but it may be possible.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been interesting to see if they could have used the signal and connection to track the flight and narrow down the searching perimeter. And also if the cellphone was a distraction.
