Ivan Lopez, the gunman of the fort hood shooting of last week, has reported to have vented about stress of the job and other mass shootings. Lopez took his own gun to the military base and shot three people before shooting and killing himself. A family friend found his Facebook, under "Ivan Slipknot" (a reference to a band) and talked about how the shooter of the Sandy Hook shooting was just seeking "
international attention" and a "minute of fame as a villain." Do these posts appeal to his possible illness or show a motive for the shooting?
His comment about the sandy hook murder was extremely ironic. Didn't Lopez do the same thing by causing this attention and killing others? Or was he hinting that you could shoot people without having mental illness- which shows lack of remorse and signs of sociopathy. what was going through Lopez's mind? leave your comments below.

It would be difficult for people who have a conscience and sympathy for others to be able to comprehend the thoughts of other people who lack that sympathy. Also, the fact that he killed himself after the shooting could reveal that he either cowardly feared the public shaming and punishment, or, he realized the horribleness of his actions and sought to escape the grief.
ReplyDeleteThis is really strange. The posts don't really make sense to me, but they do show that he was thinking about mass shootings around the time of the shooting at Fort Hood. They also don't really add up because, as you said, he seems to have done the same thing.
