A new study with the Kepler telescope could prove that there are billions of planets just like Earth throughout the galaxies. In our galaxy alone, there are about 8.8 billion planets just like our's out there. Scientists calculated that about 22% give or take 8% on each side, that stars similar to our sun have planets just like us. This means that there would be about 11 billion planets just like ours.
Based on the one in five estimate, the closest planet to us that has a star with orbiting planets like Earth within a habitable temperature zone is about 70 trillion miles away from Earth.
It's crazy to think that there could be another habitable planet like Earth out there. Maybe there is some other form of life on one of these planets?
It's crazy that there might similar planets are out there in the universe.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy that we're able to figure that out! Think of how advanced our technology has gotten to where we can see if other planets would be habitable by humans!
ReplyDeleteThis is so crazy to think about. There could be other planets out there as primeval as we were thousands or years ago, or thousands of years ahead.
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool, to think that there are so many out there.
ReplyDeleteI also think that it is crazy that there are other planets like Earth and there are other possible life forms. Interesting story!
