Summary: Sandy Lertzman, 62, is the founder of an animal rescue organization called the Animal Rights Foundation. On November 4, she was found dead in her garage. Where she was found, the car was running along side approximately 30 rescue dogs, according to police. So it appears as if the founder of this organization in Ohio has committed suicide, taking in several pets with her, says the Moreland Hills Police Department. Further investigation proved prescription vials to be found in the car and a suicide note was found inside of the home. Everyone found this tragic event to be rather surprising considering it is said that Sandy was a relatively happy, and friendly person who was passionate about any and everything she did within the organization. Despite the unfortunate, one dog was found alive and is currently recovering with Lertzman's husband and son. Overall, the one thing I can appreciate about the situation is that despite the foundation states that they will continue to fulfill their duties as who they are in honor of Sandy Lertzman.
Analysis: This article was written by Haley Draznin. In addition, it was written at CNN, at 9:02, on Sunday November 10, 2013. The audience was geared toward the general public, more specifically those who have an interest in Animal Rights, or just animal foundations in general. I believe that the article overall could have both a positive and negative influence considering its mixed messages. One simply acknowledging the death of who was called the primary pioneer in animal rights, and the great idea that it the Animal Rights Foundation refuses to let hit hinder them from moving forward, while still doing everything in honor of her. This article is relevant, significant, and important because It acknowledges to passing of a animal rights pioneer, which in todays society, is rarely acknowledged or recognized subject.
