Diana DeGette, a Colorado congresswoman, plan on introducing legislation to ban flavored e cigarettes like juul pods on a national scale due to an uptick in teenage usage due to the variety of flavors like cucumber, fruit medley, and mango. DeGette believe the flavors like cotton candy and creme brulee are direct marketing towards the youth and these flavors caused the surge in e cig and vape pen usage.
This is highkey like prohibition as even if a ban is introduced, people would still find a way to get vapes like juul from the black market or other ways. Also, this law doesn't state what will be done with vape pens that have already been purchased.

This is absolutely wack!!! Those mango pods were yummy... kidding aha juuling is bad. Stay safe kids
ReplyDeleteMaybe just make it harder for kids to get e-cigs.
ReplyDeleteI did the same article and also related it to prohibition. This may decrease the amount of kids doing it, but they will probably find ways to get it, just like alcohol was.
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't surprise me at all, and yeah people will still find ways to juul. It's really hard to deal with stuff like this, especially because nicotine is so addictive. Getting rid of flavor pods won't eliminate vaping, but hopefully it keeps young kids away.
